The Beginning of The Beacon

So, today we started to develop our idea for a second semester visual effects sequence. While it still being early days, we came up an concept and a name, The beacon.

The basic idea was having aliens chasing  some humans across various locations to deliver a payload. After a lot of development and ideas, we have refine the idea. Starting with a simple prologue:

In the year 2210, Earth was invaded by an unknown species later known as the excavators. Not long after the aliens had established complete control over the planet and enslaved the human race.

Now the year 2214, a small of the rebellion is set on their final attempt on the saving the planet and the human race.

So we have the basics for a narrative. Now during the sequence the narrative is that a small group (2 people) of the human resistance is trying to plant their final attempt of a weapon, either on top of a tall building or beneath the capital ship (depending on, if we have permission to film on the roof). 

The 2 man in the sequence have been given the name: Runners. People who were couriers for the human resistance, who travelled between outposts delivering intelligence or orders. These runners have certain equipment to aid them, such as the LightLink Communicator and the NanoGuard (personal defence shield). Armed with the Beacon, an Atmospheric Electromagnetic Pulse Beam. 

The Aliens, named the Excavators by the human survivors, are harvesting the planet's core in a series of geothermal extractors, storing the vast amounts of heat energy in a condense solid form. The aliens are large ranging from 8 to 10 feet tall. They are strong, however tend to be aggressive and unsubtle. They use cyber enhancements to protect their bodies and to give them an tactic advantage. They arrogant and when provoked, enter a deep rage and listen to their instincts, which means they kill anything between them and their target.

That's all, for now, we will later confirm the storyboards and the storyline of the sequence.
